Ventnor 1st XV 50-0 Southampton 1st XV

By GH

Ventnor where looking to continue their good run of form and started the game well with some lovely display of fast paced rugby topped off with some slick hand leading to a well taken try by Ross Harris, converted by Kenny.

The rest of the half was much of the same with Ventnor having most of the possession and with well taken tries by Riches and Blake. At half time Ventnor where well in the lead.
The second half saw in introduction of Jim Pemberton Paul berry and Mark Turner who injected some pace into the game opening up space for Andrew Gough to score. Gough then turned provider and opened up the defence for Blake to get this second of the game.

In last 10mins Southampton woke up and started running at the Ventnor defence and where very unlucky not to get at least a point on the board. Ventnor finished the game with 14 players with Newbury collecting his usual yellow card. But Ventnor held firm and kept the clean sheet running out winners 50-0 and maintaining their second place in the league.
