Ventnor RFC Match Schedules 2021-22
After a long break from rugby, the new season approaches fast with Ventnor’s 1st XV hosting Isle of Wight RFC a Watcombe Bottom on Saturday 18th September. Quite a curtain-raiser! I’ll provide more details nearer the time.
The club are determined to get two teams onto the field of play throughout the coming season.
The 1st XV play in Hampshire Division One.
To be eligible to play in the 1sts, it is imperative that you are officially registered to the club and also paying your player subs at £16 per month (unless you’re in full-time education or have circumstances which prevent you doing so).
The easiest way to do this is to go to CLUB MEMBERSHIP and proceed from there.

The 2nd XV play in the more social-orientated and relaxed Hampshire Division Four. Under the captaincy of the irrepressible Dean Magnurson, players will not necessarily need to be registered (although it’s preferable) or be regular subs payers (there will be a match fee system instead).
If anyone fancies a full season or the occasional game or if you know someone who might, please contact me (text, email etc) and I will pass on your interest to Lewis Jones (Jewy) our 1st XV captain and/or to Deano the 2nd XV captain.
Thanks to our sponsorship from Red Funnel and the club funding all coach travel, all transport costs to and on the mainland are sorted, so there are no extra fees involved. You also get a post-match meal plus the beer is always pretty cheap in rugby clubhouses. What’s not to like!
Training under Chris Fletcher, Fergus Kenny and Clive Hill takes place on Tuesday and Thursday evenings at Watcombe Bottom from 6pm and is open to all.
