Tribute to those lost from Ventnor RFC since last rugby at the club

Prior to the return of rugby at the club, with the start of the 2021/22 season, with the game of Ventnor RFC 1XV 32-26 Isle of Wight RFC 18 September 2021, Ed Blake, Chairman, made a short speach:

“It is now almost 18 months to the day since a ball was last kicked in anger here at Ventnor. Since then, we have all experienced exceptional circumstances that unfortunately included devastating losses of friends and family.
We would like to take this moment to remember the members of our clubs that we have lost over this period.

From Ventnor we have lost:

John Adams
Pete Woolcock
Sandy Stritton
Ceri Williams
Cliff Camm
Mike Walker

Our friends at Isle of Wight RFC have lost:

Paul Cunningham
Dave Bibby
Jeff Dove
Bob Cooper
John Fulljames

Our clubs wouldn’t be what they are without them and we shall now have a minutes silence to remember them.”

Ed Blake, Chairman, Ventnor RFC
