The long wait is over. Today, Ventnor Rugby Club 1st XV play their opening match in the new Hampshire league season, Counties 3 Hampshire League 2024-25. The kick off against Aldershot and Fleet RFC at Watcombe is at 3pm.
New skipper, Ben Savill names a strong squad with a Ventnor RFC debut from the very promising Lew Howard while Jack Gilbey is rewarded for his excellence in training with a Ventnor RFC 1st XV debut.
And it will be good to see how the new axis of Joe Coghlan and Max Wheeler perform after some real positive stuff in training throughout the off-season.
