Ventnor RFC Lions Test Match Breakfast 2nd Test Match sponsored by Howden Insurance 2025 Saturday 26 July 2025
As reported earlier, Howden Insurance in Newport have kindly agreed to support the Ventnor Rugby Club Lions Breakfasts we are holding at the clubhouse to coincide with the Lions v Australia test matches.
Howden Insurance are generously sponsoring our Lions Breakfasts which will take place in the clubhouse on the Saturdays of the three Lions test matches against Australia on 19th July, 26th July and 2nd August 2025.
The first was held on Saturday 19th July and was a great success thanks to the fabulous fare prepared by Chef Dan Lythgoe with ingredients supplied by Harvey Browns.

There were over forty people there and it was great to see legends of the club such as Biz Burrows, Steve Champion, Mark Rogers and Leighton Bryant.

THIS Saturday (26th July 2025) is the second Ventnor RFC Lions Breakfast, we go again with the same format.
The doors open at 10:00 with the 2nd Test Match kicking off at 11:00. We will probably have more numbers so please let me know if you’re going to be there.
There’ll be a Bouncy Castle for the kids which will be ready to bounce upon by about 11:30 plus some impromptu mini-rugby coaching during half-time of the match.

Ventnor Rugby Club Awards for the 2024-25 Season
AFTER the Lions Breakfast, we will host our AWARDS CEREMONY starting at 14:00 accompanied by a FREE barbecue hosted of Chris Skelley.
The awards up for grabs are:-
- Player of the Year
- Most Improved Player of the Year
- Try of the Year
- Player of the Year
- Most Improved Player of the Year
- Try of the Year
In addition there will be awards for:-
- The John Adams Young Player of the Year (Jeannette will be on hand to present this award)
- Coaches Player of the Year
- Supporters’ Player of the Year
- Clubman of the Year
There will also be a raffle with great prizes – some of which will be Lions memorabilia provided by their main sponsors, Howden Insurance.
