Hampshire League Division 3, Saturday 27th September 2003

Ventnor maintained their 100 percent record in Hampshire League Division 3 with a convincing win against Stoneham Park RFC.

Dave Martin opened the scoring going from short range after good work from Bob Englegardt and the former converted. Martin followed up with a penalty on 17 minutes after a high tackle on Paul Reutledge.

Ventnor scored their second try when a quickly taken penalty by scrumhalf Danny Newbery found Reutledge in space to go over, which Martin converted.

Stoneham had a brief respite converting a penalty on 25 minutes. Five minutes later good clean lineout in the Stoneham half allowed Todd Riches to put in Warren Fresle for a great try. Martin converted.

Fresle then followed up on the stroke of half time with his second and again Martin converted to give Ventnor a 31-3 lead at half time.
