Ventnor RFC Skydive for Mountbatten Hospice, Tues 9 July 2019

By GH

On Tuesday (9th July) a skydive is taking place at Sandown Airport in aid of the Mountbatten Hospice.  Originally this was going to be undertaken by Alex and Lewy Morton (both of Ventnor RFC) plus their respective partners, Steph and Jade, but, at the last minute, Lewy has been sent out to Denmark for work so he and Jade will not be doing it. Hannah Cole of The Royal Navy Ladies Rugby Team is taking one of their places.

Supporting the Mountbatten Hospice is very important to the guys, particularly due to the care and solace it provided for Alex’s step-dad, Dave Horne, and Lewy’s mother, Paula.  The Hospice is also the Charity of the Year for Red Funnel Ferries, VRFC travel sponsor.

‘Alex, Steph, Jade, and Lewy are raising money in aid of Earl Mountbatten Hospice by taking the ultimate plunge! Mountbatten has a special place in our hearts and has been there for our loved ones and our self’s on more than one occasion through some of the hardest days. Nothing is too much trouble for these guys and we want to be able to give back to show our appreciation for the help they have given us in the past, and to this day for other people.

We will be plummeting down to earth from an airplane over the Isle of Wight in July to test our fears, bravery, and stupidity. But most of all to try raise as much money for Mountbatten as possible so they are able to carry on doing the great work they do.

Every penny counts so please donate for this great cause!’
