Ventnor 2XV travelled to Fawley for the rearranged fixture already hampered by the weather.  

The squad travelled well and in high spirits having not played a game since before Christmas and it showed right from kick off.  

Right from kick off Ventnor saw some progression up the field with some great carries from Charlie Magnurson and Warren Riches making the Fawley defence work hard to win the ball back.  With play very much in the centre of the pitch for a good chuck of the half with Sean Frampton and Dean Magnurson making great work of the breakdown and turning over nicely to see debutant Beau Bridgeman bringing the back row into play with some quick balls out wide.  

When the ball did work its way out wide, Ollie Wood and Tony Jacobson with Alan Fox in support, made good yards with some strong carries.

Having lost Sean Frampton to injury in the first half, saw a slight reshuffle of the pack with Iain Reeves and Ewan Castle holding the scrum firm in the second row in really tough pitch conditions  

Ventnor’s only try attempt was scuppered by a supposed knock-on which after working the ball out from the back in a nice set of plays would have surely lifted spirits on a tough day.  

Ultimately Fawley’s persistence and large presence was too much for the Ventnor group who fell to a 40-0 defeat on the road. The lads showed great spirit and didn’t once give up and battled until the very end.
