Woking 1ST XV 80-5 Ventnor 1ST XV

Ventnor travelled away for a RFU Junior Vase game and suffered a defeat this week away to Woking.

The island side had to travel with a bare 15 due to injuries and work commitments. As well as managing to field another side at home against Isle of Wight for Beer and Buses tour. Having a number of players out of position and stepping up from the 2s, Ventnor managed to hold back Woking for a time but were eventually undone by the home sides strong running backs. Unfortunately this would seem to be the theme for the rest of the day.

There were some strong passages of play from Ventnor, who when keeping the ball in hand were making good ground. Ventnor were able to gain some points this week and a debut try from Man of the match James Green after he crashed through a number of players to score and give the team something to cheer about.

Although losing the match the team were in high spirits on their long journey home with the help of some Mexican fancy dress and homemade mojitos.
Ventnor are away again this week to Fareham heathens in the league.

Ventnor 2nd XV-Isle of Wight RFC

A mixed Ventnor 2nd XV took on a strong IW side as a focal point for the Isle of Wight Beer & Busses tour. It was a flowing high scoring game which saw players from several different clubs pulling on shirts for both sides. The club house buzzing with a huge number of new faces as they sampled the wide variety of ales on offer. A great day was had by all and the club would like to say a massive thank you to all that made it happen.
