The forthcoming fixture for this Saturday, 11 January 2025 Christchurch RFC 1XV v Ventnor RFC 1XV fixture Counties 3 Hampshire 2024-25 has been cancelled
Our 1st XV SHOULD have been travelling to Christchurch but Christchurch have had to withdraw from the league (due to lack of players apparently).
Last season, when we travelled there, they fielded two teams in a double-header and the post-match food was almost as good as ours (our grounds manager had five helpings).
It just shows how delicately balanced amateur rugby finds itself right now and how hard we ALL have to work to ensure that we prevail and that we keep the club going for another 50 years!
