Ventnor Rugby Club News Update March 2025
So, that was our last home game of the season and – despite the result – it was a great day at Watcombe.

Two debutants (Tom Branagh and Martin Wheeler) took to the field in the 26 – 58 defeat by the Hurricanes but, typically, Ventnor’s 2nd XV never gave up and scored four excellent tries (two by Tom plus one each by Ben Souter and Layton Greatorex).
Many thanks to our sponsors for the day, namely Wight Shipyard Co and Howden Insurance – the latter supplying a barrel of beer plus the post-match food.
Howden Insurance have also enabled us to update the TV in the clubhouse via the £50 contribution that they provide for every insurance policy taken out by VRFC members and friends. Thanks to Jack Rushton for getting it up on the wall.

Ventnor RFC 1XV away to Andover RFC 22nd March 2025
This Saturday, Ventnor 1sts travel to Andover RFC for a tough assignment against the league leaders but very encouraged by recent showings.
This is Ventnor RFC 1XV’s penultimate game of the 2024-25 season in the Counties 3 Hampshire League.

With the end of the season approaching and the Ventnor Rugby Club Summer Ball and Awards Evening 2024-25 on the horizon, now is the time for regular spectators, please start thinking about the player who you would nominate and vote for your Supporters’ Player of the Year.
VRFC supporters please vote for your player of the year. He can be from the 1st or 2nd XV.
The Supporters’ Player of the Year 2024-25 Award will be presented to the player at the Ventnor RFC Summer Ball & Awards Evening, on Saturday 7th June 2025
