Just when we thought we were settling back into the season, Ellingham and Ringwood RFC contacted our Fixtures Secretary, Clive, to say they will NOT be coming across tomorrow, for Ventnor RFC 1st XV v Ellingham & Ringwood RFC 2nd XV 2025-26 fixture of 10 January 2026 in the Counties 3 Hampshire League
Undaunted, our coaching team sprang into action and – realising that Overton RFC cannot play their home fixture against the Isle of Wight RFC – Damo contacted the boys at Isle of Wight RFC and have arranged a friendly against them at Watcombe.

The kick off will still be 2pm.
Sean Frampton, Bob Parker, Iain Reeves, Josh Braham, Tom Crews, Archie Lucy (on debut), Ollie Wood, Ben Cooper, The Rev Woz Riches, Fred Fairman and Tony Jacobson have been added to the prevously announced squad of:
Tom Branagh, Alec Bulpitt, Luke Butler, Joe Coghlan, Jason Coltham, Josh Ford, Jack Gilbey, Cody Hayman, Jewy Jones, Jacob Jordan, Dan Lythgoe, Hayden Lythgoe, Lewy Morton (skipper), Jack Rushton, Tom Scadden, Ben Souter, Harvey Wheeler and Max Wheeler.
and there will be 20 minute rotations so that everyone gets a decent amount of game time.
Before kick off, there will be a minutes’ silence in memory of Keith Fradgley and Tristan ‘Beast’ Price.
Following the terrible shock of Tristan Price’s death last Saturday, the extent and sincerity of the messages pouring into the club, on social media and over the airwaves has been quite incredible and demonstrates in what high regard he was held.
Meanwhile Ellingham and Ringwood’s cancellation means that we get a home walkover meaning another five points and a guarantee that we will be still heading the table at the end of tomorrow.’
