There’ll be rugby tomorrow at Watcombe when our 1st XV play Ellingham and Ringwood RFC 2XV with a kick off at 2pm.
It looks like the storm will have quietened down and that the rain will hold off.

The lads are itching to get back onto the field of play to kick-start the new year and to maintain their lead in Counties 3 Hampshire League 2025-26.
Damo has been able to name a strong Ventnor RFC 1XV squad – namely:
Tom Branagh, Alec Bulpitt, Luke Butler, Joe Coghlan, Jason Coltham, Josh Ford, Jack Gilbey, Cody Hayman, Jewy Jones, Jacob Jordan, Dan Lythgoe, Hayden Lythgoe, Lewy Morton (skipper), Jack Rushton, Tom Scadden, Ben Souter, Harvey Wheeler and Max Wheeler.

Before kick off, there will be a minutes’ silence in memory of Keith Fradgley and Tristan ‘Beast’ Price.
Following the terrible shock of Tristan Price’s death last Saturday, the extent and sincerity of the messages pouring into the club, on social media and over the airwaves has been quite incredible and demonstrates in what high regard he was held.
The club acted fast and set up a funding page to help with any immediate family requirements and the response was almost unbelievable:
Within 24 hours, over £10k had been raised and the fund currently stands at £16k (as of 9am Friday 9th January 2026). Amazing!
Many thanks to Jack, Lewy, The Rev, Flan, Amy from Social Solutions, Cuffers and anyone else who helped this get off the ground.
It will be a sombre day but I’m not sure whether Beast would approve of that so let’s cheer on the lads and raise a glass to both him and Keith.
Revised Ventnor RFC 2XV Fixtures
Following on from The Hampshire RFU reconfiguring the Premiership South league, meaning that all the fixtures as published at the start of the season are no longer valid, Clive, Fixtures Secretary, has just about worked his way through the revised Ventnor RFC 2nd XV fixtures so we will be able to give you an update in the next day or two.
