Ventnor gained a second successive home win with a good performance against the students of Southampton University Hospital RFC.
The islanders took the lead inside 15 minutes with Andy Dixon scoring in the corner.
Southampton University Hospital RFC responded quickly to score under the post and kick the conversion.
Ventnor RFC 1XV continued to do well in the scrum with hooker Nigel Malkin, winning several balls against the head, however, no more scores were added in the first half.
Southampton University Hospital RFC increased their lead early in the second half when Ventnor fullback, Dave Martin, was penalised for ungentlemanly conduct.
Soon afterwards Ventnor scored the best try of the game.
From a scrum on halfway good passing from the Ventnor backs found wing Warren Fresnel in space on the left flank. His pass enabled Martin to score.
Ventnor sealed the game 15 minutes from time when experienced scrum-half Biz Burrows capitalised on indecision by his opposite number to score from a five-yard scrum.
