A news update and summary of the latest from Ventnor Rugby Club. 25th January 2026:
Ventnor’s interrupted season continues with the 1st XV game against Eastleigh cancelled on Saturday due to Eastleigh 2nds being removed from the league and the 2nds game at Fawley being postponed due to Fawley’s pitch being under water.
Ventnor RFC 1sts have played just two league games since their win at home against Winchester on 22nd October so it’s no surprise that the results went against us at Isle of Wight and at Tottonians RFC.
However, Alton did us a big favour on Saturday, beating Totts at home, which means Ventnor RFC 1sts still lead the Counties Three league by two points over Totts with the same number of games played.
Ventnor 1st XV remain at top of Counties 3 Hampshire league 2025-26 league table with lead reduced to 4 points (as at 17-01-2026)
This Saturday 31st January 2026, Ventnor RFC 1sts are at home to Lymington Mariners RFC in the third round of the Hampshire Cup.
Meanwhile the Ventnor RFC 2nds travel to Fareham Heathens RFC 2XV.
Both kick offs are at 2pm. If the 1sts prevail, we will be in the quarter finals with the possibility of a long-distance away game . . .

Ventnor RFC are once more among the names of the Red Funnel Supported Teams for 2026 which is a huge honour for the club and a massive financial benefit since we will get all our cross-Solent trips away financed.

Celebrating the life of Tristan Price – Service and Wake
In much sadder news, there has been a date set for the funeral of Tristan ‘Beast’ Price.
Tuesday 10th February at 14:15 at the Crematorium followed by a wake at the clubhouse at Watcombe from 15:30 onwards. See attached.
