Today Ventnor Rugby Club 1XV v Alton Rugby Club Saturday 28-02-2026
Both Ventnor Rugby Club teams have two home games today, Saturday 28th February 2026 at Watcombe Bottom.
Following on from today’s Ventnor Rugby Club 2XV v United Services Rugby Club 2XV will be Ventnor RFC 1XV v Alton RFC.
Followed by the 1st XV playing Alton RFC with a kick off at 14:30.
The 1sts kick off at 14:30 against Alton who have been on a good run of results so it’ll be a tough game from which we need a victory to keep the destiny of the league in our own hands.
Lewy is back from his hamstring strain and leads a full squad of 18 – namely:
Dan Lythgoe, Jewy Jones, Jack Rushton, Jason Coltham, Cody Hayman, Jacob Jordan, Harvey Wheeler, Josh Ford, Luke Butler, Alec Bulpitt, Tom Branagh, Max Wheeler, Archie Lucy, Ben Souter, Harry Bexon-Stone, Will Broomfield and Jack Gilbey.
It’s good to welcome JJ back.
It’s going to be busy at the club so please park sensibly!
While the 1sts last played a LEAGUE game at Watcombe on 22nd November, when they played Winchester RFC 3XV.
So let’s get out there to support them!
Thanks to a creditable 20 – 20 draw against Winchester RFC 1XV on Valentines Day, (with tries from Alec Bulpitt, Joe Coghlan and Josh Ford who also contributed a conversion and a penalty).

The 1st XV still lead Counties 3 Hampshire league 2025-26, with currently a 6 point lead over Tottonians RFC 2XV (but Tottonians RFC 2Xv have a game in hand):
Ventnor RFC 1XV: played 11, won 7, drawn 1, lost 3, 40 points
Tottonians RFC 2XV: played 10, won 7, drawn 0, lost 3, 34 points
Isle of Wight RFC: played 11, won 5, drawn 0, lost 6, 31 points
