Both Ventnor RFC teams home for league games on Sat 4 March 2023
Both Ventnor teams take to the field at Watcombe today (Saturday 4th March 2023).
Firstly the Ventnor RFC 2nd XV kick off at 13:00 against Fordingbridge RFC 2XV, in their Counties 5 Hampshire South West league game.
James Blake has assembled a great squad (23 players!) – some of them who will no doubt be offering to play for the opposition who are travelling light.
It will be an excellent opportunity to see the progress the 2nd XV have made in the last few months and a chance to see a some of new players that have joined us recently. Our very own Clive Cardwell-Hill refs this game.
In all likelihood, that game will be done by 14:10 – well in time to refill and watch the match between Ventnor RFC 1sts take on Winchester RFC 2nds that kicks off at 14:30.
Jewy has been able to put his A Team together for this one so we can expect some great rugby against the team currently lying second in Hampshire Counties Three.
ll guests coming to the Vice Presidents’ lunch, please remember that we need to sit down at 13:00 so that we can clear before 14:15. Recent experience has shown me that it’s not a good idea to get between a thirsty VRFC 2nd XV and the bar!
